Job Description
Kforce's client in San Francisco, CA is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support general accounting operations, month-end and quarter-end close, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and analysis. This role will take ownership of key accounting activities while partnering with leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform month-end and quarter-end close activities
- Prepare and post journal entries and supporting schedules
- Complete balance sheet and general ledger account reconciliations
- Perform financial analysis, including Balance Sheet and P&L variance analysis
- Manage intercompany accounting, reconciliations, and reporting
- Support quarterly and annual financial reporting requirements
- Assist with SOX testing, internal controls, and audit activities
- Support annual tax package preparation
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies
- Partner with business leaders and accounting teams on financial matters
- Support special accounting projects, process improvements, and transformation initiatives
- Maintain proactive communication regarding deadlines, deliverables, and responsibilities
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong general accounting and financial reporting knowledge
- Experience with month-end and quarter-end close
- Strong journal entry and account reconciliation experience
- Financial analysis and variance analysis experience
- Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas
- Experience with Oracle, SAP, or similar ERP systems
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Intercompany accounting experience
- Oracle Financials or Oracle Fusion experience
- SAP experience
- SOX testing and internal controls experience
- Internal or external audit experience
- Experience supporting accounting transformation initiatives

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
