     Job Description:

    Senior Accountant

    About the Opportunity

    A well-established and growing organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its corporate accounting team. This position will play a key role in the month-end close process, financial reporting, account analysis, and balance sheet integrity. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting skills, a proactive problem-solving approach, and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple business functions.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead assigned areas of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
    • Maintain and analyze balance sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting policies.
    • Investigate and resolve complex account discrepancies through detailed analysis and collaboration with internal stakeholders.
    • Manage recurring accounting schedules and ensure transactions are recorded in the proper accounting periods.
    • Assist with cash-related accounting activities, account reconciliations, and financial reporting support.
    • Partner with internal departments to research unusual transactions, improve data accuracy, and strengthen reporting processes.
    • Support external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to auditor requests.
    • Participate in process improvement initiatives focused on automation, efficiency, controls, and reporting enhancements.
    • Prepare account analyses, variance explanations, and ad hoc reporting for finance leadership.
    • Assist with special projects and other accounting responsibilities as needed.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
    • CPA designation or active pursuit of CPA certification preferred.
    • Approximately 4+ years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate accounting, audit, or public accounting environment.
    • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting concepts.
    • Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail.
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with large data sets.
    • Experience utilizing ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
    • Continuous improvement mindset with an interest in leveraging technology and automation.

    Preferred Experience

    • Public accounting background or experience supporting complex business operations.
    • Exposure to multi-entity accounting environments.
    • Experience supporting audits and preparing financial statement support schedules.
    • Familiarity with business intelligence tools and financial reporting platforms.
