This is a hands-on leadership role requiring full ownership of the monthly close process, technical accounting, audit management, and inventory accounting. Description
- Own and manage the full monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Lead all technical accounting activities, including researching and implementing accounting guidance and preparing related documentation.
- Manage internal and external audits, serving as the primary point of contact for auditors and ensuring timely completion of audit requests.
- Oversee inventory accounting for a high-volume product portfolio of 1,000+ SKUs, ensuring accurate inventory valuation and reconciliation.
- Manage and reconcile complex intercompany transactions across multiple entities.
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and ensure compliance with US GAAP and company accounting policies.
- Review account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting schedules.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, strengthen internal controls, and increase operational efficiency.
- Partner cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Operations, and Finance to support business initiatives and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Mentor and develop members of the accounting team while fostering a collaborative, high-performance environment.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 15+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong emphasis on corporate accounting rather than FP&A.
- Proven experience leading the full month-end close process in a hands-on capacity.
- Strong background in technical accounting and managing external audits.
- Significant experience with inventory accounting and intercompany transactions in a product-based organization.
- Experience managing accounting for large SKU environments (1,000+ SKUs preferred).
- SAP experience is required.
- CPA designation is preferred but not required.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
