Senior Accounting Manager

Bishop & Company is partnering with a well-established, locally headquartered grocery retail organization to recruit a Senior Accounting Manager to lead core accounting operations and financial close activities.This role oversees general ledger, financial reporting, and compliance, while serving as a key partner to leadership and cross-functional teams. The Senior Accounting Manager will lead a high-performing accounting team, oversee an offshore expense function, and drive continuous improvement across systems, processes, and internal controls.Grocery and/or Retail experience is highly preferred.What You'll DoLead end-to-end accounting operations, including general ledger, inventory, fixed assets, capital projects, and intercompany activityOwn the quarterly close process and ensure accurate, GAAP-compliant financial reportingPrepare and support audits, serving as a primary liaison to external auditors and tax partnersLead, mentor, and develop internal accounting staff and an offshore expense teamStrengthen internal controls, streamline processes, and identify automation opportunitiesPartner with leadership to deliver clear financial insights and support decision-makingWhat We're Looking ForBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 5+ years in leadershipExperience supporting $100M+ revenue environments and complex operationsStrong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controlsHands-on experience with Sage, Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains), and ExcelProven ability to lead teams in fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentsGrocery and/or Retail experience highly preferredHybrid work arrangement (office and remote)Extended hours during quarter-end, year-end, and audit cyclesStarting salary range: $100,000–$110,000 , depending on experience and backgroundBishop & Company is a proud local firm providing recruitment services throughout Hawaii.
