Senior Accounting Manager – Portland, OregonNOW CFO is seeking an experienced, hands‑on Senior Accounting Manager to join our team in the Portland, Oregon area. This is a full‑time opportunity offering a base salary of $115,000–$130,000, depending on experience.This role is ideal for a hands‑on accounting professional who can operate above a traditional Accounting Manager level while supporting mid‑level Controller responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be a well‑rounded accounting generalist with strong fundamentals, experience across multiple industries, and the ability to quickly adapt to different client environments while supporting day‑to‑day accounting, month‑end close, process improvements, and financial reporting.Candidates must be located in or willing to commute throughout the Portland metro area and surrounding markets. This role may require travel to client sites across Portland and other areas in Oregon as needed, including Vancouver, Salem, and surrounding communities.Key ResponsibilitiesManage full‑cycle accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Payroll support, Billing, and Revenue RecognitionLead and support month‑end and year‑end close processes with accuracy and timelinessPrepare, review, and analyze financial statements, account reconciliations, and supporting schedulesSupport budgeting, forecasting, cash flow reporting, and variance analysisPartner with client leadership teams to provide financial insight and improve visibility into business performanceAssist with internal controls, accounting policies, and process improvementsSupport mid‑level Controller responsibilities, including financial reporting, audit preparation, and accounting team oversightHelp standardize accounting procedures while adapting to the unique needs of each clientIdentify opportunities to improve efficiency, reporting accuracy, and scalability within accounting functionsWork cross‑functionally with operations, finance, and leadership teams to support client needsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferredStrong Accounting Manager, Senior Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, or similar experienceExperience supporting month‑end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and full‑cycle accounting operationsGeneralist industry background preferred, with the ability to adapt across multiple client environmentsStrong understanding of GAAP and accounting best practicesExperience with ERP or accounting systemsAbility to step into hands‑on accounting work while also supporting higher‑level Controller functionsStrong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skillsComfortable managing multiple priorities in fast‑paced and changing environmentsMust be based in or willing to commute throughout the Portland, OR market and surrounding areas, including Vancouver and Salem as neededWhy Join NOW CFONOW CFO offers the opportunity to work with a variety of clients, industries, and accounting environments while continuing to grow as a well‑rounded accounting leader.
