Senior Accounting Manager

Lead construction accounting operations for a growing company, bringing your expertise in job costing, financial reporting, and project profitability to a hands-on leadership role.

SALARY: $26-33 per hour

LOCATION: Vancouver, WA

SCHEDULE: Full time, 30-40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, Flexible schedule during business hours, Temp to Hire

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Oversee construction job costing and project profitability, tracking labor, materials, subcontractors, equipment, and overhead while investigating cost overruns and budget variances.
• Manage WIP reporting, project billing, invoicing, change orders, retainage, and accounts receivable to ensure accurate financial tracking and timely billing.
• Direct day-to-day accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, vendor reconciliations, general ledger, month-end and year-end closing, and financial reporting.
• Develop and monitor departmental budgets, analyze financial performance, identify cost-saving opportunities, and provide ownership with actionable recommendations.
• Lead and develop accounting staff, establish departmental priorities, and partner with project managers and operational teams to improve financial processes and maintain compliance.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• 3–5 years’ experience in construction accounting, including job costing, WIP reporting, project profitability, and billing.
• 1–3 years’ experience in accounting leadership/management, overseeing accounting staff and daily operations.
• Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting, payroll, budgeting, financial reporting, and construction labor compliance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to sit for extended periods, occasionally stand, walk, bend, and reach; frequently use hands and fingers for typing and handling documents; occasionally lift or carry office supplies weighing up to 20 lbs.
