Our client, a growing and well-established organization in Knoxville, TN, is seeking a Contract Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist to join their accounting team. This is a high-impact role responsible for driving AR performance, resolving complex billing issues, managing team escalations, delegating workload, and ensuring strong cash flow management.This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working cross-functionally, improving processes, and taking ownership of the full receivables cycle.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and oversee the full-cycle accounts receivable processMonitor aging reports and proactively follow up on outstanding balancesPartner with customers and internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies and disputesApply cash receipts and reconcile customer accounts accurately and timelyPrepare and analyze AR reports, trends, and KPIs for leadershipAssist with month-end close activities, including reconciliations and reportingSupport process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce DSOMentor and provide guidance to junior AR team members (if applicable)Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controlsQualifications7+ years of progressive accounts receivable experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead capacityStrong understanding of AR processes, credit, collections, and cash applicationExperience handling high-volume or complex accountsProficiency in ERP/accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar)Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis)Excellent communication and problem-solving skillsHigh level of attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environmentBenefit offerings include PTO, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, and 401K plan.
