Senior Advisor/ CPA

A growing financial services firm is seeking an experienced Senior Advisor to join its leadership team. This is a high level, hands on position combining accounting leadership, Accounts Payable oversight, client financial management, and team development.

The Senior Advisor will oversee and mentor Account Leads while maintaining visibility into client accounting and team performance. This individual will help develop Account Leads into confident, independent owners of their client relationships while knowing when to provide additional guidance and support.

The role also includes oversight of Accounts Payable operations, bookkeeping, Accounts Receivable, general ledger activity, reconciliations, financial reporting, and close processes. The ideal candidate is an experienced accounting leader with strong judgment, excellent people management skills, and the ability to improve processes while maintaining high standards across multiple client accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, manage, and mentor Account Leads through regular check ins, training, and professional development

• Hold team members accountable for performance, accuracy, and client service

• Coach Account Leads on financial reviews, client reporting, and workflow management

• Develop team members into confident and independent owners of their client accounts

• Oversee daily Accounts Payable operations and ensure accuracy and timely completion

• Oversee client bookkeeping, Accounts Receivable, general ledger activity, and bank reconciliations

• Support and review monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes

• Prepare and review financial statements and reports

• Implement and maintain accounting procedures, policies, and internal controls

• Work with clients to understand their accounting needs and provide appropriate solutions

• Monitor workloads across teams and proactively address capacity issues

• Guide Account Leads on delegation and effective use of offshore support

• Drive adoption of company systems, processes, and technology

• Oversee smooth and consistent onboarding of new clients

• Foster collaboration across Account Leads, Advisors, and offshore team members

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience strongly preferred

• 3+ years of senior leadership or managerial experience strongly preferred

• Strong experience managing Accounts Payable functions and accounting teams

• CPA or CMA certification strongly preferred

• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, AR, general ledger, reconciliations, financial reporting, and close processes

• Proficiency with QuickBooks or similar accounting platforms

• Proven ability to mentor, manage, and develop accounting professionals

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills

• Exceptional attention to detail and financial accuracy

• Excellent client facing and internal communication skills

• Experience within an outsourced accounting firm or similar environment is highly preferred

Type: Full time

Salary: $140,000 to $160,000/year
