    Job ID: 2026-19543 | Category: Audit | Type: Regular Full-Time | Job Grade: 12 | FLSA Status: Exempt | Working Hours: 8AM-5PM | Job Location: Audit #10015, Trustmark's Geographic FootprintLocation: US-MS, AL, Houston, TX; Memphis, TN; Panhandle FL; Atlanta, GA | US-MS-JacksonOverviewThe responsibilities of this position include auditing functions of the bank, assessing the adequacy of controls and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.ResponsibilitiesExecute the day-to-day activities of audit engagements including planning, process documentation, testing and reportingSupport the design and execution of an engagement's audit approach and procedures in accordance with relevant regulatory guidance, banking industry accounting literature and applicable internal guidance and the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal AuditingDemonstrate a working knowledge and stay current on developments in regulatory guidance and banking industry accounting literature and its impact on the organization.Communicate in a clear, organized, and professional manner, tailoring messages appropriately for different audiences in both written and verbal formats.Build and maintain effective working relationships with clients, team members, and stakeholders within the scope of assignmentsDemonstrate collaboration and openness by working productively with others and incorporating feedback constructively.Exercise sound judgment and critical thinking by appropriately challenging risks, scope, and approaches, and providing thoughtful recommendations.Identify and communicate potential issues and opportunities for audit efficiencies and process improvement to Managers or above and evaluate subsequent remediation of those issues.Supervise Audit Associates and Interns on engagements and providing coaching, timely feedback, and reviewing their audit documentation.Meet all organizational and professional ethical standards.QualificationsBachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in Accounting or FinanceTwo or more years of Financial Institution, Banking, or other financial services industry experienceTwo or more years of audit experience with national accounting firm, or three or more years of internal audit experienceStrong oral, written and interpersonal communication skillsComfortable communicating with ManagementBroad level knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accounting proceduresBroad level understanding of internal controlsPossess moderate analytical and project management skillsCPA license or CIA certification preferredLevel II Additional QualificationsFive or more years of banking/financial services audit experienceStrong oral, written and interpersonal communication skillsComfortable communicating with ManagementStrong level knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accounting proceduresStrong level understanding of internal controlsPossess strong analytical and project management skillsPhysical Requirements / Working ConditionsMust be able to sit for long periods of time and use computer keyboard and/or mouse, while viewing computer screens.NoteNote: This is a brief description of this position and is not limited to those described herein.
