Senior DevOps Engineer

ICF is looking for an enthusiastic Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team and help build out the future of GSA’s Login.Gov. If you are DevOps Engineer interested in applying your expertise in building the future of the federal access, then this may be the role for you.

Job Location: This position requires that the job be performed in the United States.  If you accept this position, you should note that ICF does monitor employee work locations and blocks access from foreign locations/foreign IP addresses, and also prohibits personal VPN connections.

• You may be asked to travel once a quarter to an office.
• Our core work hours are 10am - 4pm Eastern Time with the option to start earlier or work later depending on your time zone.

What You Will Do:

• Infrastructure Management: Utilize Terraform and Kubernetes to manage and automate infrastructure provisioning and scaling.
• Cloud Services: Leverage AWS services to ensure high availability, security, and performance of the application.
• Deployment Management: Coordinate and execute production deployments of new functionality weekly.
• On-Call Rotation: Participate in on-call rotations to provide timely support and incident resolution.
• Agile Practices: Operate within a Scrumban framework to support continuous delivery and iterative improvement.
• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with development teams and security teams to ensure seamless deployment of features.
• Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure and deployment issues.
• Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with federal standards.
• Automate repetitive tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree
• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or site reliability experience
• 4+ years of excellent problem-solving skills and end-to-end quantitative thinking.
• 4+ years of experience administering production Kubernetes environments, including Amazon EKS, Helm, ingress, RBAC, secrets, upgrades, observability, and GitOps delivery
• Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust
• United States Citizen or Green Card holder required
• Candidate must reside in the U.S., be authorized to work in the U.S., and all work must be performed in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or site reliability experience
• Experience taking ownership of and improving an existing production cloud platform, including its architecture, automation, reliability, security, and operational practices.
• Experience with CloudFront, Route 53, ACM, Cognito, SQS, SNS, SES, Secrets Manager, S3, ECR, and cross-account AWS access patterns.
• Ability to self-organize, priorities and conduct research on multiple projects under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, in a professional work environment.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$98,614.00 - $167,644.00Nationwide Remote Office (US99)
