Mead & Hunt Inc., a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has a position available for a Senior Electrical Controls Engineer.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading the design of electrical and controls engineering projects.
  • Preparing plans and specifications of electrical systems for bidding and construction.
  • Providing construction administration and site visits.
  • Mentoring staff.
  • Coordinating work and communication between subcontractors, teaming partners, and suppliers.
  • Some travel will be required.

The successful candidate must have all of the following:

  • Bachelors degree or higher in electrical or architectural engineering with an electrical emphasis from an accredited college or university.
  • At least twelve (12) years of relevant electrical and controls engineering experience.
  • PE license in any state.

The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:

  • Designing electrical and control systems for public or industrial water/wastewater facilities, water/wastewater collection, pumping, treatment, and discharge.
  • Designing water/wastewater collection, treatment control equipment and systems.
  • Designing electrical systems using power analysis software (EasyPower and/or SKM Power Tools) and lighting calculation software (Visual Lighting, AGI32, or ElumTools).
  • Designing instrumentation and control equipment, programmable logic controller (PLC) systems, and equipment.
  • Codes, statutes, standards, and laws related to building design and construction.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
  • Mentoring engineers and designers.
  • Familiarity with bidding and construction phase and commissioning services.
  • Experience with Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) or Design-Build project delivery methods.
  • Have an active Professional Engineer (PE) license or have the ability to obtain one within 12 months of hire.
