Senior Electrical Estimator

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Electrical Estimator to join our team in New Jersey. This role is open to out of state candidates offering moving and relocation expenses if you are hired.

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of estimating experience and a proven track record of preparing accurate, competitive bids for a variety of electrical construction projects. Experience in mission critical/data center facilities is strongly preferred, with additional experience in healthcare, commercial, industrial fit-outs, and traffic signal/streetscape projects highly valued.

The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing plans and specifications, performing quantity takeoffs, soliciting vendor and subcontractor pricing, and developing complete project estimates. This position requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Candidates should have experience developing estimates for projects ranging from small renovations and tenant improvements to large-scale electrical construction projects exceeding $25+ million in value. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing multiple bids simultaneously and evaluating labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs for complex projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical construction and utility projects.

• Review plans, specifications, addenda, and bid documents.

• Perform accurate material and labor takeoffs.

• Solicit, evaluate, and level vendor and subcontractor quotations.

• Develop labor productivity assumptions and project cost projections.

• Coordinate with project management and operations teams during bid development.

• Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving alternatives.

• Maintain estimating databases and historical pricing information.

• Attend pre-bid meetings and perform site visits as required.

• Assist with conceptual budgeting, design-build proposals, and change order pricing.

• Track bid opportunities and maintain estimating schedules.

• Prepare and submit estimates for projects ranging from several hundred thousand dollars to $25+ million electrical construction contracts.

Preferred Experience

• 5-10 years of electrical estimating experience.

• Strong experience estimating: 

o Mission Critical / Data Center projects (preferred)

o Healthcare facilities

o Commercial construction

o Industrial fit-outs and renovations

o Traffic signal and streetscape improvements

• Demonstrated experience preparing and managing estimates for electrical construction projects valued up to and exceeding $25 million.
