Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a curious and detail-oriented Senior Financial Analyst to join its Partner Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to become a part of one of the most dynamic and fastest growing organizations at Amazon. The role will work closely with business and finance stakeholders to drive profitable growth alongside AWS partners by leveraging scalable programs and targeted initiatives. In addition to having a breadth of exposure by providing broad-based analytical support to the Partner team, it will also own direct business partner relationships.

The candidate will be responsible for building reporting mechanisms to monitor business health, deep-diving variances to uncover operating insights, reviewing/evaluating program investments, collaborating on program/deal design decisions to optimize financial returns, establishing/enhancing governance mechanisms, and driving planning and forecasting rhythms.

Successful candidates will have a high degree of intellectual curiosity, a passion for uncovering insights to drive business outcomes at scale, strong attention to detail, and the capacity to prioritize effectively while dealing with ambiguity.

Key job responsibilities

Invent and automate detailed reporting to monitor the business and financial health of Partner programs

Review and evaluate program investments to ensure spend meets AWS financial requirements

Provide financial due diligence on proposed strategic agreements with key Partners, ensuring an acceptable return on investment (ROI)

Deep Dive drivers of monthly & quarterly variances in revenue & expense metrics and provide key insights to business stakeholders to inform operating strategies

Own planning and forecasting for a subset of Partner program expenses and influence business stakeholders to ensure plans are aligned with broader organizational objectives

Collaborate with business stakeholders to scope, evaluate and implement new programs to drive growth with Partners

Develop and implement governance mechanisms to protect AWS investments

Perform ad-hoc analyses to help business leaders solve complex problems and understand financial implications

A day in the life

Day-to-day work includes building deal financial models, validating deal terms, tracking SCA performance, managing forecast and R&O inputs, preparing leadership reporting, and partnering with business, legal, operations, and FP&A teams to support approval and governance.

The role will help evaluate whether partner investments are appropriately structured, whether performance is on track, and where financial risks or opportunities require action.

About the team

Partner Core Finance supports the AWS Specialists and Partners organization by helping AWS invest efficiently in partners, programs, and go-to-market motions that accelerate customer adoption. The team operates at the intersection of finance, sales strategy, partner operations, and controllership, with direct exposure to senior leaders and high-impact business decisions. We value analytical rigor, ownership, curiosity, and practical judgment. This is a fast-moving, collaborative team where finance is expected to influence decisions, not just report results.

Amazon.com Inc

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
