Description Amazon seeks a Senior Financial Analyst to play a key role on our AWS Global Sales Planning & Compensation (SPC) Finance team. We are focused on ensuring variable compensation is equitable to sales reps, drives strategic outcomes for AWS, and is customer obsessed to build long lasting relationships. This role will partner across our SPC plan design team, economics team, research/data scientists, and partner finance teams. This role has potential to help peak around corners to ensure our sales teams are the most efficient and effective in the world. Key job responsibilities - Serve as a key finance partner supporting Sales Marketing & Global Services leaders providing financial support and business insights - Lead the development of financial models and advanced analytical tools that aid in key decision making - Build rhythm of the business processes that help business leaders understand progress to goals as well as strategic insights to guide overall direction - Perform ad-hoc analysis as needed and present findings to senior management A day in the life Distilling complex data to simplified financial model and document outputs to help drive quick decision making. Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science) - Experience in financial modeling, P&L management or analysis - 3+ years of dissecting financial data and identifying patterns that support business strategy experience - 3+ years of contributing to cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy experience - 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience Preferred Qualifications - Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards) - 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience - Experience in identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes - 4+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience - 4+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
