    Description

Amazon Logistics (AMZL) is Amazon"s "Last Mile" delivery service, responsible for delivering packages-and smiles-to households and businesses across the planet. Our finance team partners closely with this rapidly expanding business, supporting a growing portfolio of delivery stations, vehicles, and technology to ensure packages arrive on time, often next day or faster. We complement traditional van delivery with innovative models like Amazon Flex (gig-economy drivers), Amazon Lockers, and more-all designed to delight our customers. Join us and help build one of the largest delivery networks on the planet.

AMZL Finance seeks a Senior Financial Analyst to join the Canada FP&A team. This role offers opportunities to grow your career across the many facets of our world-class delivery operation, with potential to rotate into other functional areas or roles across Amazon"s portfolio of businesses.

As a Senior Financial Analyst on the AMZL IPAT (Insights, Planning, Analytics, and Technology) team, you will own financial and operational reporting, decision support, financial modeling, controllership, and cost reduction initiatives. You"ll collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver timely analysis, insightful guidance, and financial leadership as we scale our last-mile delivery organization. This role provides extensive partnership opportunities with business and finance leaders to identify best practices across the network and drive cost improvements. A typical day offers the chance to innovate through large-scale, data-driven decision-making while building creative, socially responsible logistics solutions.

Success in this role requires strong business partnership, sound judgment, and the ability to influence stakeholders in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment. You"ll lead variance analysis deep dives, present findings during business reviews, and balance structured financial processes with ad-hoc projects. You bring best-in-class partnership skills and strong controllership, prioritizing work that maximizes impact for key stakeholders and solves complex, company-wide challenges.

    Key job responsibilities

Controllership & Risk Management: Identify control risks, evaluate impact, propose changes, and implement improvements to remediate gaps.

Financial Close & Reporting: Deliver weekly/monthly financial close activities. Leverage financial systems and advanced Excel to manage large data sets and produce plans, forecasts, budgets, and consolidations.

Data Integrity: Work with diverse data sources; identify incomplete or inaccurate data, determine root causes, escalate discrepancies, and partner to resolve issues.

AI & Automation: Leverage AI tools and technologies (e.g., machine learning models, generative AI, predictive analytics) to enhance financial analysis, automate repetitive tasks, and generate actionable insights that drive business decisions.

Communication: Use active listening and clear, concise communication (written and verbal) to articulate complex finance topics. Adjust style for various audiences.

Process Improvement: Identify and implement solutions to resolve, improve, automate, standardize, or simplify finance processes-including exploring AI-driven solutions to increase efficiency and accuracy.

Time Management: Prioritize work independently, resolve issues, meet deadlines, and seek feedback. Discern between urgent and non-urgent matters and act accordingly.

Professional Development: Drive your own growth within the Finance community-seek opportunities to expand expertise in emerging technologies including AI/ML, participate in initiatives, and share knowledge across teams.

Team Culture: Contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment; serve as an effective mentor and role model for new team members.

    About Company

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
