Senior Manager, Technical Accounting TalentBridge is partnering with a large, complex organization seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Technical Accounting to help establish and lead a newly created technical accounting function. This highly visible leadership opportunity will serve as a key technical accounting resource, providing guidance on complex transactions, strengthening accounting policies and internal controls, and driving process improvements across the organization. The ideal candidate brings a strong combination of public accounting and industry experience, deep U.S. GAAP expertise, and the ability to translate complex accounting matters into practical business solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Lead technical accounting research and analysis for complex transactions, including revenue recognition, leases, business combinations, impairments, debt, equity, and other non-routine matters.
Prepare and review technical accounting memoranda, position papers, and supporting documentation in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
Support internal control enhancements, remediation initiatives, and improvements to accounting governance and documentation.
Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and processes to ensure consistency and compliance.
Evaluate new accounting standards and lead implementation efforts across the organization.
Partner with Financial Reporting, Corporate Accounting, Internal Audit, and external auditors on technical accounting matters.
Build, mentor, and develop a technical accounting team while establishing scalable processes and best practices.
Identify opportunities to leverage technology and automation to improve efficiency and reporting accuracy.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; active CPA required.
10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant technical accounting responsibilities.
Combination of public accounting and public-company industry experience.
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, technical accounting research, and preparation of audit-ready accounting memoranda.
Experience with internal controls, remediation initiatives, financial restatements, or accounting transformation environments.
Demonstrated leadership experience with strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Big Four or national public accounting firm background.
Experience supporting complex, multi-entity or international organizations.
Background implementing accounting policies, improving internal controls, or leading technical accounting process enhancements.
