RoleOverview: Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting

Arlington, VA | In-office, Monday-Friday

We are seekingahands-onSenior Managerof Revenue Accountingtomanagerevenue accounting function.This role willbe responsible formanagingrevenue recognition, ensuring compliance with ASC 606,optimizingfinancial processes, and partnering cross-functionally to support Costar's continued growth.

The ideal candidate has deepexpertisein SaaS/software and eCommerce business models, including subscription-based revenue streamsrevenue accounting, technical accounting background, and experience in scaling revenue accounting operations in a high-growth environment.This role will require alignment of revenue processes and systems for our acquired entities.

Revenue Accounting & Compliance

  • Managerevenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606, ensuringaccurateandtimelyrevenue reporting.

  • Managethe review and interpretation ofcustomer contracts, ensuring proper accounting treatment and adherence to revenue policies.

  • Manageprocess improvements in revenue recognition, billing, and reporting to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

  • Ensure compliance and internal controls related to revenue processes.Partner with external auditors to support revenue-related audit requirements.

  • Managemonthly and quarterly revenue close processes, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and proper cut-off.

  • Manage revenue-related accounting memos and technical assessments for complex transactions

Cross-functional Collaboration & Leadership

  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Legal, FP&A, and Product teams to evaluate revenue implications of new business models, pricing strategies, and product offerings.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on revenue-related matters, providing insights and recommendations for business decisions.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing revenue accounting team.

  • Review and interpret SaaS, software, and professional services contracts, ensuring proper revenue treatment andidentifyingrisks.

Systems & Process Optimization

  • Enhance and automate revenue accounting processesleveragingOracleFusion.

  • Drive scalability in revenue operations to support Costar’s continued expansion across global markets.

  • Implement best practices for revenue forecasting and analytics toprovideactionable insights to finance and executive leadership.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Financeor related from an accredited, not-for-profit University or College. 

  • A track recordof commitment to prior employers. 

  • 8+ years of relevant accounting experience.

  • CPA designation is required.

  • Experience working in or auditing large international public companies.

  • Deepexpertisein ASC 606 and revenue recognition.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in revenue accounting, with at least 3+ years in amanagerrole.

  • CPA or equivalent designationstronglypreferred.

  • Experience within SaaS/software and eCommerce business models, including subscription-based revenue streams.

  • Experience working in a high-growth, global organization.

  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and drive continuous process improvement.

The final salary or hourly rate offered for this rolewill fall within the range set forth below based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, skills, and competencies.

Base Compensation: $130,000.00-$218,000.00 Annually
