    Description

    What You'll Do:

    The Senior Program Manager drives execution of Avalara's most critical projects across the company. You will lead programs that improve performance, accelerate growth, and increase operational efficiency. The Senior Program Manager brings structure to complex work, aligns leaders and teams, and ensures programs deliver measurable outcomes. You will support mergers and acquisitions by leading integration efforts to ensure successful business and operational agreement.

    What Your Responsibilities Will Be:

    Responsibilities

    • Lead programs that move Avalara's priorities, ensuring understanding, clear plans, and measurable outcomes
    • Build and manage program plans by defining scope, milestones, dependencies, and success metrics across multiple teams
    • Guide execution by aligning team members, removing blockers, and ensuring programs achieve on time results
    • Partner with senior leaders to define program goals, develop recommendations, and translate strategy into execution
    • Establish and run program operating rhythms that create visibility, accountability, and action across teams
    • Identify risks and resolve issues by managing trade-offs, escalations, and priorities with
    • Support mergers and acquisitions by leading integration execution, ensuring agreement across systems, and teams
    • Use AI tools (such as n8n and similar workflow automation platforms) to improve program workflows, improve reporting, accelerate analysis, and enhance decision-making
    What You'll Need to be Successful:

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in business, information management, or a related field such as operations or technology
    • 8+ years of experience in program management, product management, or change management
    • Lead large programs with measurable growth
    • Program management skills, including planning, dependency management, and risk management
    • Experience driving change and influencing team members in a matrixed organization
    • Translate strategy into clear plans, actions, and outcomes
    • Experience working with senior leaders and presenting to executive audiences
    • Proficiency with program and collaboration tools (such as Smartsheet, Jira, Confluence, and Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel)
    • Demonstrated experience using AI tools to improve workflows, automate processes, and enhance decision-making (such as n8n or similar automation platforms)

     

    Preferred Qualifications

    • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent
    • Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions, including integration execution
    • Experience in a corporate program management office (PMO) or similar strategic function
    • Advanced experience using AI tools to automate workflows, create insights, and improve program delivery
    • Experience working in high-growth environments
    • Experience in a SaaS (Software as a Service) company
    • Familiarity with financial, operational, or product metrics used to measure performance
