    Position Summary

    This role owns procurement execution for all non-OEM (non-Caterpillar) supplier commodities supporting MacAllister's electric power strategic accounts business. The Procurement Specialist is accountable for sourcing, purchasing, and delivery of assigned commodity categories - including enclosures (packaging), clean emissions modules (CEMs), plenums, camboards, and other ancillary equipment - ensuring supply continuity, cost discipline, specification compliance, and on-time delivery aligned to project schedules.

    This role operates as the primary commercial interface with assigned suppliers, owning supplier commercial and delivery performance, purchase order execution, and supply risk identification. The Procurement Specialist works cross-functionally with Engineering, Supplier Quality, Project Management, and Field Execution teams to ensure procurement decisions align with technical requirements and project timelines.

    This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports. As the business scales, additional Procurement Specialist roles are anticipated, with commodity assignments divided across the group.

    Position Duties/Responsibilities

    Primary Responsibilities:

    Sourcing Strategy & Supplier Selection

    • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for assigned non-OEM commodity categories supporting MacAllister's electric power strategic accounts scope of supply.
    • Conduct market analysis, supplier benchmarking, and total cost of ownership (TCO) evaluations for assigned categories.
    • Identify and qualify new suppliers, including second-source options for supply risk mitigation.
    • Lead supplier RFQ/RFP processes, evaluate supplier proposals, and recommend supplier selection decisions.
    • Maintain an approved supplier list for assigned categories in coordination with Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE).

    Purchase Order Execution & Delivery Management

    • Create, manage, and track purchase orders within ERP systems for all assigned commodities.
    • Ensure purchase order accuracy, including specification compliance and alignment with engineering requirements.
    • Own order tracking, expediting, and resolution of supply disruptions.
    • Coordinate delivery logistics and schedules to meet project timelines and site readiness requirements.
    • Authorize purchase orders required to support the business within assigned commodity categories.

    Supplier Commercial & Delivery Performance

    • Own the commercial and delivery performance relationship with assigned suppliers.
    • Monitor and drive supplier performance on cost, on-time delivery, lead time, and capacity commitments.
    • Conduct regular supplier performance reviews focused on commercial and delivery metrics.
    • Negotiate pricing, lead times, warranties, and service-level agreements.
    • Develop and manage supplier contracts, including long-term agreements.
    • Identify and execute cost savings, cost avoidance, and supplier optimization opportunities.
    • Note: Supplier quality performance (conformance, audits, NCRs, corrective actions) is owned by the Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) function.

    Supply Risk Identification & Escalation

    • Identify and escalate supply chain risks that could impact project schedules, cost, or delivery commitments.
    • Monitor supplier capacity constraints, material lead times, and market conditions affecting assigned categories.
    • Escalate unresolved supply disruptions or delivery risks to Supply Chain Management with proposed mitigation actions.
    • Maintain awareness of industry trends relevant to data center power infrastructure procurement.

    Cross-Functional Coordination

    • Coordinate with Engineering to ensure procurement aligns with technical specifications and design requirements.
    • Coordinate with Project Management to align procurement timelines with project delivery schedules.
    • Coordinate with Supplier Quality Engineering on supplier qualification, quality performance issues, and corrective action requirements.
    • Coordinate with Field Execution to ensure material availability supports commissioning readiness.
    • Communicate procurement status, risks, and supply constraints to internal stakeholders.

    Process Improvement & Scalability

    • Drive procurement process improvements, standardization, and efficiency gains across assigned categories.
    • Contribute to the development of standard work, procurement playbooks, and repeatable sourcing processes as the Procurement function scales.
    • Identify opportunities to reduce lead times, improve supply continuity, and lower total cost of ownership.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    • No formal supervisory responsibilities

    Position Requirements

    Required:

    • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business or related field - or equivalent years of experience
    • 5+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management
    • Experience purchasing industrial equipment, power systems, or mechanical/electrical components.
    • Experience with ERP systems (purchase order creation, tracking, reporting).

    Preferred:

    • 7 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain
    • Experience with power system projects or data center infrastructure procurement.
    • Experience in high-volume
    • Experience in high-volume, engineered-to-order procurement environments.
    • Professional certifications (CPSM, CPM, APICS, CIPS).

    • Supplier evaluation, selection, and commercial performance management.
    • Contract negotiation and commercial judgment.
    • Technical aptitude sufficient to interpret specifications for power generation equipment and components.
    • Risk identification and supply continuity planning.
    • Strong communication and stakeholder alignment skills across technical and operational teams.
    • Ability to operate independently and manage ambiguity in a scaling organization.

    Other Requirements of Position

    • Works under general supervision. Employee acts independently to handle standard problems but usually reports on such problems. More unusual problems are referred to a supervisor/manager.
    • Major responsibilities typically require creativity and latitude. Employee typically operates with specific objectives but often few written or unwritten procedures as guidelines. Some policies or precedents for action exist.
