Senior Staff Accountant (Contract - 3 Months)

Pay: $35-40/hour
LHH is partnering with a client in North Austin to identify a Senior Staff Accountant for a 3-month contract engagement. This role will focus heavily on general ledger, month-end close, and reconciliations, while supporting broader accounting operations.
What You'll Be Doing
General Ledger & Month-End Close
Prepare and post journal entries to support accurate financial reporting
Assist with month-end close, ensuring deadlines are met and processes run efficiently
Maintain and analyze general ledger accounts for accuracy and completeness
Reconciliations
Perform detailed bank and balance sheet reconciliations
Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
Ensure supporting documentation is complete and audit-ready
AP/AR Support
Review Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activity for accuracy
Partner with AP/AR teams to resolve issues and ensure proper coding and posting
Assist with improving processes and controls across transactional accounting
Financial Reporting
Support preparation of internal financial reports and schedules
Assist with variance analysis and provide insight into account fluctuations
What You Bring
4+ years of accounting experience, with strong GL focus
Proven experience with month-end close and bank reconciliations
Experience reviewing or supporting AP/AR functions
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, etc.)
ERP system experience (Oracle, NetSuite, SAP, or similar preferred)
