Senior Staff Accountant

North Austin | Fully InOffice

Base Salary : $75,000-$80,000 + 10% annual bonus eligible

We're partnering with a wellestablished financial services organization in North Austin to hire a Senior Staff Accountant to join their growing accounting team.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Staff Accountant who enjoys a structured environment, takes ownership of their work, and is looking for longterm stability with the opportunity to grow as systems and processes continue to evolve.

The accounting team is collaborative, handson, and processdriven - with leadership actively investing in modernization and automation.

The Opportunity :

This Senior Staff Accountant role is accounts payablefocused initially, with added exposure to bank reconciliations, general ledger support, and monthend close. While the role requires someone comfortable being handson today, the company is actively working toward reducing manual transaction work through automation.

As that transition continues, this position is expected to shift toward more review, accounting, and analytical responsibilities.

What You'll Be Doing:

Accounts Payable & Expense Management
  • Manage fullcycle accounts payable across multiple entities
  • Process approximately 75-100 invoices per week, including review, coding, approvals, and entry
  • Prepare vendor payments via ACH, wire, check, and online portals
  • Reconcile automatic debits and corporate credit card activity
  • Maintain organized and auditready vendor and AP documentation
  • Resolve vendor inquiries and billing discrepancies
  • Review and record employee and management expense reports through an expense management system
  • Process daily Positive Pay activity with banking partners
Accounting & MonthEnd Support
  • Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations
  • Prepare monthend accruals and supporting journal entries
  • Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts
  • Assist with internal and lender reporting
  • Provide documentation to support audits and compliance requirements
1099 & Compliance
  • Collect, review, and maintain vendor W9 documentation
  • Ensure proper vendor classification
  • Prepare and support annual 1099 filings
  • Maintain organized compliance and audit support files
Additional Responsibilities
  • Respond to internal and external accounting inquiries
  • Support special projects as needed
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies
What They're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Strong APheavy accounting experience
  • Proven bank reconciliation and monthend close support experience
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and autonomously
  • Experience supporting multiple entities preferred
  • Real estate, lending, or financial services experience is a plus
  • Strong Excel skills; ERP experience a plus
Compensation & Benefits
  • $75,000-$80,000 base salary + 10% annual bonus eligible
