    Description

    Work Setting: Hybrid schedule in Duluth, GA — Tuesday and Wednesday onsite, Monday/Thursday/Friday remote

    Compensation: $90,000 to $100,000 base salary

    Bonus: Discretionary annual bonus eligibility based on company and individual performance

    Position Summary

    A growing, acquisition-focused services organization is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join its finance and accounting team supporting a dynamic business segment experiencing continued growth.

    This is a hands-on accounting role responsible for month-end close, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, financial analysis, and process improvement. The successful candidate will own key accounting responsibilities while working closely with finance leadership in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

    The ideal candidate is a proactive accounting professional who enjoys taking ownership, improving processes, and working in a lean team where versatility and initiative are highly valued.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Prepare and record journal entries, including accruals, revenue, labor, and other recurring accounting activities

    • Support timely and accurate month-end close in accordance with U.S. GAAP

    • Perform account reconciliations and maintain the integrity of assigned general ledger accounts

    • Analyze monthly P&L results and investigate budget-to-actual variances

    • Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for audits and financial reporting

    • Assist with acquisition integrations, accounting process improvements, and system enhancements

    • Leverage advanced Excel skills to improve reporting, automate manual processes, and analyze financial data

    • Partner with finance leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely financial information


    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Finance degree considered with relevant accounting experience)

    • 3–5 years of accounting experience with at least two years in general ledger or corporate accounting

    • Strong month-end close, journal entry, and account reconciliation experience

    • Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial statement preparation

    • Advanced Excel skills, including functions such as XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, INDEX/MATCH, and IF formulas

    • Experience working with ERP systems

    • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment while working independently and collaboratively

    Preferred Backgrounds

    • Corporate accounting or general ledger accounting

    • Multi-entity or acquisition-focused organizations

    • Service-based or project-based businesses

    • Experience supporting external audits and financial reporting

    • Process improvement and accounting automation initiatives

    • Senior Staff Accountant, GL Accountant, Corporate Accountant, or Staff Accountant backgrounds
