Description

Senior SuperintendentAs a Senior Superintendent, you'll be the on-site leader responsible for managing all field operations on large-scale mission critical and data center projects. Key responsibilities include:Lead daily site operations from mobilization through commissioning and turnoverCoordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field teams to maintain schedule and qualityEnforce strict safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA and company standardsOversee installation of complex MEP systems and mission critical infrastructureMaintain detailed documentation including daily logs, inspections, and reportsCollaborate with Project Managers, engineers, and commissioning agentsConduct regular site meetings and ensure alignment across all tradesResolve field issues proactively and maintain high standards of workmanshipMentor junior staff and foster a culture of accountability and excellenceTravel to project sites nationwide as neededDrive overall project execution to ensure milestones, schedule commitments, and client expectations are achievedLead site logistics planning, crane operations, material deliveries, and workforce coordinationManage all aspects of project safety, including site-specific safety plans, audits, and corrective actionsCoordinate commissioning activities and support successful startup of critical building systemsOversee implementation of quality control programs and ensure all work meets project specificationsReview construction drawings, submittals, RFIs, and design changes to identify potential field impactsMonitor manpower levels and productivity to ensure efficient project executionDevelop and maintain look-ahead schedules and recovery plans when necessaryFacilitate owner, architect, engineer, and subcontractor meetings to drive project alignmentCoordinate utility tie-ins, shutdowns, and critical system transitions with minimal risk to operationsEnsure proper sequencing of structural, architectural, electrical, mechanical, and technology installationsManage punch list completion, turnover documentation, and final project closeout activitiesSupport budget objectives by identifying cost-saving opportunities and minimizing reworkPartner with procurement teams to proactively address long-lead equipment and material deliveriesLead constructability reviews and identify solutions to complex field challengesEnsure compliance with all local building codes, permitting requirements, and project regulationsCoordinate testing and inspection activities with authorities having jurisdiction and third-party consultantsManage high-profile client interactions and provide regular updates on site progressEstablish and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and trade partnersTrain, mentor, and develop Assistant Superintendents and field engineersChampion Lean Construction principles and continuous improvement initiativesMonitor field productivity metrics and implement corrective measures when necessaryCoordinate installation and turnover of switchgear, generators, UPS systems, cooling infrastructure, and other critical systemsLead efforts to maintain site security and protect high-value equipment and materialsEnsure all commissioning prerequisites are completed in accordance with project requirementsManage fast-track construction schedules in highly demanding and deadline-driven environmentsCoordinate multi-shift operations and oversee 24/7 construction activities when requiredAnticipate project risks and develop mitigation strategies before they impact schedule or qualityFoster a culture of ownership, teamwork, safety, and operational excellence across the entire project teamSuccessfully deliver mission critical facilities that meet the highest standards for reliability, uptime, and performanceMPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
