Job Summary

This is a high-impact, portfolio-level AI Field Delivery Engineer role designed for someone who can operate as both a practitioner and an enabler. You will serve as the AI technical anchor across a set of strategic accounts - going deep with clients to uncover AI use cases, shaping delivery, and simultaneously building the capability of fresher FDEs in the team. This role sits at the intersection of delivery, pre-sales, and practice development.You will work closely with the Portfolio Lead, Delivery Managers, and Account Executives to drive AI adoption at the client level while mentoring and upskilling the broader FDE bench.

Key Responsibilities

1. Portfolio-Level FDE Planning & EnablementOwn and drive the AI FDE strategy and operating model across assigned portfolio accountsCreate a structured FDE playbook covering account engagement approaches, use case frameworks, and delivery methodologiesMentor and hands-on train fresher FDEs - building their capability in client engagement, AI solutioning, and delivery executionEstablish a reusable knowledge base of AI use cases, demos, and solution accelerators across the portfolio2. Account Engagement & Use Case DiscoveryWork shoulder-to-shoulder with Delivery teams and Account Managers to go deep into client environmentsConduct structured discovery sessions with client stakeholders to identify high-value AI/GenAI use casesMap client business challenges to feasible AI solutions using HCLTechs offerings and partner ecosystem (Microsoft, Google, AWS, etc.)Maintain a living use case pipeline per account and track progression from ideation to POC to production3. Client Presentations & SolutioningLead or co-lead AI capability presentations, demos, and workshops for client leadership (CXO to working-level)Develop compelling business cases and solution narratives tailored to each clients industry and maturityTranslate complex AI concepts into clear, business-relevant language for non-technical stakeholdersRepresent HCLTechs AI point of view with credibility and domain depth4. Sales CollaborationPartner with sales and pre-sales teams on AI opportunity identification and qualificationContribute to RFPs, proposals, and SOW development where AI FDE expertise is requiredAct as a trusted technical voice in client conversations that are in the sales pipelineSupport deal progression by anchoring technical credibility and delivery confidence5. Delivery Oversight (Light Touch)Provide technical governance and directional input on ongoing AI engagements within the portfolioIdentify risks, dependencies, and skill gaps in delivery and flag to the Portfolio LeadEnsure consistency in AI delivery approach and quality across accounts

Skill Requirements

5-9 years of overall experience in technology delivery, with at least 3 years in AI/ML or GenAI-related rolesHands-on experience with one or more AI/GenAI platforms: Azure OpenAI, Google Vertex AI, AWS Bedrock, or equivalentStrong understanding of the end-to-end AI lifecycle - from use case framing to model deploymentExperience in client-facing roles - comfortable presenting to and engaging with senior stakeholdersDemonstrated ability to train, mentor, or coach technical teamsExposure to pre-sales or solutioning activities is a strong plusExcellent communication, storytelling, and presentation skillsAbility to context-switch between 3-4 concurrent accounts without loss of depth

Other Requirements

Experience in IT services / consulting environment (Big 4, GCC, or Tier-1 IT companies)Knowledge of industry verticals relevant to the portfolio (e.g., BFSI, Manufacturing, Retail, Hi-Tech)Familiarity with AI governance, responsible AI principles, and enterprise AI adoption challengesExposure to large language models (LLMs), RAG architectures, and Agentic AI frameworksPrior experience working in a shared / matrixed resource model across accounts
