Shipping Supervisor/ Day Shift

An established manufacturing company is seeking a motivated Shipping Supervisor to lead a team of approximately 25 employees and oversee daily shipping department operations.

This position is ideal for a strong leader who knows how to communicate effectively, motivate employees, maintain accountability, and ensure work is completed accurately and efficiently.

The company is looking for someone with excellent people-management abilities and the potential to grow into a higher-level management position. Prior shipping industry experience is not necessary, making this an excellent opportunity for a capable supervisor looking to advance their career.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead a shipping department team of approximately 25 employees.
• Oversee daily workflow and ensure shipping operations run efficiently.
• Assign responsibilities and monitor employee performance and productivity.
• Maintain clear communication with employees and department leadership.
• Ensure employees follow established procedures and workplace expectations.
• Address operational challenges and resolve issues promptly.
• Maintain team accountability, attendance, and productivity standards.
• Support employee training, development, and performance improvement.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflow, efficiency, and team performance.
• Foster a positive, organized, and productive work environment.
• Demonstrate leadership potential for future advancement into management.

Qualifications

• Strong supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Ability to effectively manage and motivate a team of approximately 25 employees.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Confidence in making decisions and addressing workplace challenges.
• Ability to hold employees accountable while maintaining positive working relationships.
• Dependable, proactive, and results-oriented.
• Strong potential and ambition to grow into a management position.
• Manufacturing or warehouse experience is a plus.
• Previous shipping experience is not required.

Location: Newark, NJ

Type: Full-time, day shift

Schedule: Regular day shift

Salary: $60,000–$70,000/year
