Job Description

The Small Business Loan Collections Analyst is responsible to collect past due accounts on all SMB/SBA commercial loans, while also controlling delinquency, protecting Northwest assets, mitigating bank losses and developing customer relations in order to secure.

Essential Functions

  •     Process loan modifications if applicable to Loss Mitigation Credit GroupDevelop use of AS400, Signature, VQueue, and collections software system
  •     Identify and resolve lender/bank collection issuesEnsure appropriate modifications, extensions, and deferrals, and timely collection efforts
  •     Prepare and analyze departmental reportsMeet departmental service standards
  •      Work with SMB/SBA Teams on delinquency and plansReview documentation for data integrity
  •     Analyze records of past due accountsObtain voluntary payment of debt, and judgments and property reports
  •     Advise on related laws, regulations, policies and proceduresCollect and negotiate appropriate payment agreements
  •     Monitor payment progress effectivelyMaximize methods of skip tracing/collections
  •     Mitigate losses to NorthwestVerify collateral
  •     Remain flexible in time and tasksMake appropriate credit judgment decisions
  •     Pacify non cooperative customersRecommend improvements to procedures, fee generating alternatives, and service/delivery enhancements
  •     Analyze/investigate to resolve questionable payments or chargesAttempt to outperform delinquency expectations in SMB/SBA Thresholds
  •     Minimize departmental nonpayroll costsManage personal workload/workflowAdditional Essential Functions
  •     Ensure compliance with Northwest’s policies and procedures, and Federal/State regulationsNavigate Microsoft Office Software, computer applications, and software specific to the department in order to maximize technology tools and gain efficiency
  •     Work as part of a teamWork with on-site equipmentWhat You Bring to the Team
  •     Complete special projects as necessary Safety and Health for those without supervisory duties Abide by the rules of the safety and loss prevention program
  •     Perform work tasks in a safe mannerReport any and all injuries to supervisor

  • High School Diploma    or equivalent              College degree in business/finance/accounting             Work Experience3 - 5 years    credit experience / administrative experience/collections             General Employee Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  •     Ability to establish effective working relationships among team members and participate in solving problems and making decisions  
  •     Ability to present and express ideas and information clearly and concisely in a manner appropriate to the audience, whether oral or written  
  •     Ability to actively listen to what others are saying to achieve understanding, sharing information with others and facilitating the open exchange of ideas and information    
  •     Ability to establish courses of action for self to accomplish specific goals, develop and use tracking systems for monitoring own work progress, and effectively use resources such as time and information  
  •     Ability to make right decisions based on perceptive and analytical processes, practicing good judgment in gray areasAdditional Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesDemonstrated skills in problem solving, communication, financial analysis  
  •     Working knowledge of commercial loans
