Description

PGS Worldwide is seeking Software Engineers in Orlando, FL for contract-to-hire roles supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.

The Software Engineers will support software development for training and simulation systems used in command and battle staff environments. These roles support live, virtual, and constructive simulation assets, command and control systems, DIS/HLA gateways, and web-based front-end control applications.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering-related discipline.
  • Software development lifecycle experience.
  • Experience planning, conducting, and coordinating software development activities.
  • Proficiency in one or more of the following: C++, Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Angular.
  • GitLab or equivalent CI/CD tool experience.
  • Windows operating system experience.
  • Linux operating system experience.
  • Ability to design, develop, document, test, and debug software.
  • Ability to apply software standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Ability to analyze system capabilities and resolve issues involving program intent, output requirements, input data, programming techniques, and controls.
  • Ability to correct software errors and prepare operating instructions.
  • Ability to compile and maintain software development documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Front-end development experience.
  • GUI-based application design or development experience.
  • C++ experience.
  • Python experience.
  • Java experience.
  • JavaScript, TypeScript, or Angular experience.
  • Distributed systems architecture experience.
  • Live, virtual, or constructive simulation experience.
  • DIS/HLA gateway experience.
  • Command and control systems experience.
  • Experience learning and implementing new tools or programming languages.
  • Experience integrating newer tools and technologies into established programs to improve software process efficiency.
  • Aerospace, defense, training systems, modeling and simulation, or mission-critical software experience.

What You’ll Do

  • Plan, conduct, and coordinate software development activities.
  • Design, develop, document, test, and debug software for business and mission applications.
  • Develop software solutions for training and simulation systems.
  • Support web-based front-end control application development.
  • Work with live, virtual, and constructive simulation assets.
  • Support command and control systems and DIS/HLA gateway integration.
  • Apply software standards and development processes throughout the software lifecycle.
  • Correct program errors and support troubleshooting activities.
  • Analyze software requirements, input data, outputs, programming techniques, and controls.
  • Prepare operating instructions and software development documentation.
  • Use GitLab or equivalent CI/CD tools to support development and delivery.
  • Work across Windows and Linux operating environments.
  • Help integrate new tools and technologies into established software programs.

Pay

  • $49.00–$100.00/hour
