CATEGORY 2 – SOLID WASTE HEAVY LABORER
 

The Landfill position starts at 5:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. They work 10-hour shifts.

Solid Waste Heavy Laborer Qualifications:

 

• Ability to follow instructions, safety practices, and standard operating procedures.
• Ability to work effectively with other laborers.
• Ability to perform heavy manual labor and work in adverse weather conditions.
• Ability to step up and down from the back of a refuse truck multiple times each hour.
• Ability to push and drag up to 150 pounds of refuse and lift up to 100 pounds of refuse.
• Ability to ride in a standing position on the back of a moving refuse truck while holding a handrail.
