Sourcing Specialist (Buying/Procurement)

Summary:

• Location: Houston, TX
• Duration: 12 Months
• Oil & Gas experience is preferred but not required

Responsibilities:

• Create and manage Purchase Orders (POs) in Oracle
• Review and validate requisitions (PORs) before PO creation
• Confirm supplier setup and availability in Oracle
• Navigate multiple Oracle screens to check PO history and review inventory and supply/demand data (view-only)
• Support planners with accurate status updates
• Support production meetings by preparing PO and part status outside of Oracle (typically in Excel)
• Manage Blanket Purchase Orders (BPOs) with regular interaction with approximately 5 suppliers (out of ~9 total)
• Handle releases, expediting, and payment follow-up
• Support farm-out and repair activities, interacting with approximately 20 suppliers over short cycles
• Communicate with suppliers via email and calls (Teams) to request quotes (RFQs), expedite materials, and clarify requirements
• Maintain documentation for auditability and PO attachments

Requirements:

• Daily navigation of multiple Oracle screens (OSCAR / PASCAL)
• Strong understanding of how information flows, not just data entry
• High communication load management
• Experience in managing high volume complexity simultaneously

Preferred Skills:

• Oracle OSCAR and/or Oracle PASCAL hands-on buyer-side use (not just exposure)
• Comfort navigating multiple modules/screens
• SAP or similar modern ERP experience, if the candidate can clearly articulate buyer workflows and navigation logic
