Claiborne Senior Living is seeking a dependable and skilled Sous Chef to prepare quality meals and help create an enjoyable dining experience for our residents. This role combines culinary skills, food safety, and teamwork to deliver appetizing meals that meet residents’ dietary needs and preferences while supporting an organized and welcoming kitchen environment.

What you'll do
- Prepare and serve flavorful, appealing meals following approved menus, recipes, and dietary requirements.
- Coordinate food preparation so meals are served on time with consistent quality, temperature, and presentation.
- Accommodate resident preferences through authorized substitutions and communicate needed menu adjustments.
- Maintain a clean, organized kitchen through proper sanitation, food storage, labeling, and temperature monitoring.
- Assist with inventory, supply ordering, and next-day preparation while managing portions and reducing food waste.
- Support meal service and special events while providing friendly, professional interactions with residents, families, and teammates.
What we're looking for
- At least two years of experience in food preparation and service.
- A valid ServSafe/Food Handler’s permit, or the ability to obtain and maintain one.
- Working knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and safe food-handling practices.
- Ability to follow recipes, accommodate special diets, and manage preparation for scheduled meal service.
- A dependable team player who brings professionalism, friendliness, and a commitment to resident satisfaction.
- Ability to meet the role’s physical demands, including prolonged standing, walking, bending, and lifting approximately 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
