Sow Farm Manager

A well-established swine production company is seeking an experienced Sow Farm Manager to lead day-to-day operations at one of its Minnesota sow farms.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced swine professional who has demonstrated leadership and management experience and is ready to take ownership of farm performance, animal care, employee development, and production results.

The operation houses approximately 4,000 pigs and is looking for a hands-on leader who can effectively manage both people and production while maintaining high standards for animal health, biosecurity, and overall farm performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage daily sow farm operations.

• Supervise, train, and develop farm employees.

• Establish and maintain strong production and animal-care standards.

• Monitor herd health, reproductive performance, production metrics, and overall farm results.

• Work closely with the veterinary and production teams to implement herd-health and production strategies.

• Maintain strong biosecurity and animal-welfare protocols.

• Manage labor, supplies, scheduling, and other operational needs.

• Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, and profitability.

• Maintain accurate production records and communicate results to leadership.

• Ensure a safe, organized, and productive work environment.

Qualifications

Required:

• Previous swine leadership and/or management experience.

• Hands-on experience working with sow operations.

• Strong understanding of swine production and herd health.

• Demonstrated ability to lead, train, and motivate employees.

• Strong organizational and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and make sound day-to-day operational decisions.

• Commitment to animal welfare, biosecurity, and production excellence.

Compensation

$55,000–$75,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
