Specialist HR Payroll - Superior Energy Services

Superior is currently seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our team in Houston, TX. The Payroll Specialist administers assigned components of the domestic payroll processing function to ensure the completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of the core payroll data including earnings, deductions, tax elections, direct deposit data and reporting.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform daily payroll department operations
• Backup to expense management system
• Aid in creating Journal Entries
• Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
• Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
• Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits
• Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance
• Execute time and attendance processing & reconciliation and interface with payroll
• Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed
• Process off-cycle payroll with various types of bookings:
• Personal use of company vehicles, stock option, relocation and relocation gross-up
• Verify HR EAF's - Employee Action forms to core system

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED. Some college is preferred.
• CPP is preferred but not required.
• 4-6 years experience processing multi-state payroll.
• Working knowledge of payroll best practices.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations.
• Strong PC skills including proficiency in Excel .
• Working knowledge of Kronos (Dimensions) is preferred.
• Strong work ethic and team player.
• High degree of professionalism.
• Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material
• Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills.
• Ability to communicate with various levels of management.
• Decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills.
• Performs all other duties as may be required by the needs of the business
