    Accounting Manager – Confidential Luxury Retail Company (Bay Area)A long-established luxury retail company with over four decades of excellence is seeking a hands‑on, detail‑oriented Accounting Manager to join our growing team. We are recognized for our dedication to craftsmanship, quality, and delivering exceptional client experiences in the world of fine goods and design.About the RoleThis is a hands‑on, on‑site role responsible for managing day‑to‑day accounting operations and supporting the company's continued growth. The Accounting Manager will partner with senior leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting, strengthen internal controls, and drive process improvements across multiple entities.You will oversee accounting functions, including inventory, revenue recognition, general ledger, payroll, and financial reporting—while also leading budgeting, forecasting, and system integration projects.Key ResponsibilitiesManage general ledger operations and month‑end close; ensure accurate and timely financial statements for multiple entities.Oversee inventory accounting : reconciliations, gross margin analysis, and intercompany eliminations.Manage revenue accounting and ASC 606 compliance , including deferred revenue and joint venture transactions.Oversee sales accounting , including Avalara sales tax reporting, state sales tax compliance, and commission calculations.Handle payroll processing , ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution.Maintain accurate records for prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and ASC 842 lease schedules.Lead financial reporting , budgeting, and forecasting activities.Support tax compliance, audits, and internal control processes.Drive process improvement initiatives , including ERP and expense management system implementations.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).6+ years of progressive accounting experience; experience in luxury retail or manufacturing preferred.CPA Required or at least taking coursesProven hands‑on accounting experience in a small to mid‑sized company environment.Strong understanding of GAAP, ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition), and ASC 842 (Lease Accounting).Payroll processing experience required.Advanced Excel skills; experience with Microsoft Dynamics.Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Self‑starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented setting.What We OfferCompetitive compensation with bonus potential.Comprehensive benefits: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), flexible time off, and paid holidays (including winter break).Collaborative, high‑performing culture focused on innovation and growth.Daily team lunches and unique company perks.We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome candidates from all backgrounds to apply.#J-18808-Ljbffr
