Senior Accountant About the RoleThe Senior Accountant role is a highly experienced and skilled senior-level position responsible for managing and maintaining financial records, preparing complex financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations. This role requires deep knowledge of accounting principles, project accounting, and revenue recognition, and the ability to mentor and coach junior accountants.Key Responsibilities Prepares, reviews, and analyzes financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and company policies.Manages month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.Conducts financial analysis and variance reporting to support business decisions by providing actionable insights.Oversees and improves internal controls, accounting procedures, and compliance with regulatory requirements, ensuring alignment with industry standards.Leads internal and external audit preparations, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.Manages complex reconciliations of general ledger accounts, intercompany transactions, and financial consolidations.Researches and implements changes in accounting standards, tax regulations, and reporting requirements, staying ahead of industry developments.Provides mentorship and guidance to junior accountants, reviews their work, and assists with their professional development.Collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize financial processes and drive efficiency improvements.Utilizes exceptional skills with accounting software tools and Microsoft Excel to perform detailed financial analysis and reporting.Applies solid knowledge and understanding of project accounting and revenue recognition principles, contributing to accurate financial management.Performs other accounting-related duties as assigned, supporting the overall success of the accounting team.Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree).Typically 4+ years of related experience.Deep knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).Exceptional skills with accounting software tools and MS Excel.Solid knowledge and understanding of project accounting and revenue recognition principles.Ability to provide effective coaching and mentoring to junior accountants.Experience in preparing journal entries, accounting reconciliations, and month‑end close.Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.Ability to work independently and within a team.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.Preferred Qualifications Certified Public Accountant (CPA).Public accounting experience.Public company experience.Aerospace industry experience.Familiarity with SAP.Experience with financial reporting and other accounting activities.Compensation Pay Range: $107,677.00 – $148,054.75.
