Description and Requirements

Benefit Claim Service process deals with processing death and determining if any benefit is due and issue them to the designated Bene as per the policy which are reported by Social Security Administration, Employer, or others (spouse, relative etc.) It also includes doing research on multiple systems and tracking of all customer communications associated with the death benefit payments and remaining contributions. MetLife sends the letters to the Annuitant\''s address if any amount is due to be paid to them and in case of no response to letters, phone calls are made, and emails are sent out. This is known as the Outreach process. Post Outreach, a new process starts which is known as the "Abandoned Property Process". After we do the outreach there is a benefit which is due, and it is our obligation to pay this benefit out to our customers and if they do not respond then we have to escheat this. This will be escheated to the estate and at a later point customers can claim those funds from the state, so MetLife must ensure that we take off or remove the liabilities of the records of accounting and place them into an abandoned property which is a holding area.

Process death for Structured Settlements and Income Annuities

Processing the Death of the Annuitant in the system as per the request coming from Bene or Contingent Annuitant

Transaction processing using multiple applications and doing thorough research for accurate processing

Verify all necessary documents and details before processing any transaction and take the decision to complete, Pend, or refer the case

Understand and interpret the handwritten documents from US customers

Through email address outreach (group email box) reach out to customers claim packages through sending out templatized emails

Review and process updates on deferred death notifications received in the prior month

Assign cases to the admins and reviewers for processing

Process Abandoned Property transactions for Annuities and investments. Processing the steps as per the SOPs & QRGs and conducting comprehensive research of the prior required actions taken on the transaction

Transaction processing using multiple applications and records.

Verify all necessary documents, details, and history of the case and decide to process accordingly.
