Your role at Baxter

In this senior individual contributor role, you'll build influential partnerships with healthcare leaders, academic institutions, and key opinion leaders to drive meaningful scientific exchange, generate actionable insights, and shape evidence-based strategies. Leveraging deep clinical expertise and strategic influence, you'll lead high-impact initiatives that strengthen Baxter's scientific leadership, support evidence generation, and connect external perspectives to organizational priorities.

What you'll be doing

  • Deliver credible, evidence-based scientific exchange through presentations, educational programs, and peer-to-peer discussions while responding compliantly to scientific inquiries.
  • Gather and communicate clinical insights, emerging trends, unmet needs, and evidence gaps to inform Medical Affairs strategy and decision-making.
  • Lead external engagement strategies, including KOL development, advisory boards, investigator collaborations, executive scientific interactions, and research initiatives.
  • Support scientific congresses and professional meetings by facilitating engagement, sharing insights, and identifying collaboration opportunities.
  • Partner with Medical Affairs, R&D, Regulatory, Quality, Marketing, and Commercial teams to address evidence needs and enhance scientific understanding across the organization.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in infusion therapy, smart pump technology, and related clinical practice areas.
  • Independently lead complex Medical Affairs initiatives, strategic projects, and process improvements from planning through execution, driving measurable organizational impact.

What you'll bring

  • Strong ability to analyze, interpret, and communicate complex scientific and clinical information to diverse audiences.
  • Proven success building trusted relationships with healthcare professionals, KOLs, and senior clinical stakeholders.
  • Exceptional presentation, communication, and scientific engagement skills.
  • Advanced understanding of Medical Affairs compliance requirements and scientific exchange principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate customer insights into actionable strategies and recommendations.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration, project leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Self-directed, adaptable, and effective at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven experience leading complex initiatives and influencing stakeholders without direct authority.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific, clinical, or healthcare discipline required; advanced degree, relevant licensure, or certification preferred.
  • Significant experience in infusion therapy, smart pump technology, Medical Affairs, clinical practice, or related healthcare fields.
  • Prior Medical Science Liaison, field medical, scientific affairs, or comparable external scientific engagement experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated success presenting scientific or clinical information to healthcare professionals and expert audiences.
  • Experience in medical devices, pharmacy, nursing, pharmaceuticals, nutrition, or related therapeutic areas preferred.
  • Ability to travel approximately 50-70%.
