Position Title: Sr. Market Research Analyst

Location: Glen Allen, VA (Hybrid-Tuesday through Thursday onsite; Monday and Friday remote)

Pay Rate: $40-$50 per hour; potential conversion salary of $75,000-$100,000

Position Description:

Seneca Resources is seeking a Sr. Market Research Analyst for a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity with a leading regional financial institution. This role will support market research, competitive intelligence, customer insights, and data analysis initiatives that inform marketing strategies, product development, and business decisions across consumer, business, commercial, and retail banking segments.

The ideal candidate is an analytical and detail-oriented professional with experience interpreting economic, industry, customer, and competitive data. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, customer-focused environment while contributing insights that support product launches, market growth, and improved customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor market conditions, industry trends, competitor activity, and consumer demand to support business planning and product launch timing.
• Conduct competitive intelligence research, including analysis of marketing strategies, pricing, sales approaches, and operating models.
• Collect, evaluate, and analyze secondary data from government agencies, industry organizations, and other credible sources.
• Conduct customer interviews and research to assess perceptions of brands, products, and services.
• Identify purchasing behaviors, price and discount sensitivity, brand loyalty, and other customer insights across market segments and sales channels.
• Translate complex research findings into clear, actionable recommendations for marketing, product development, and business stakeholders.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and written analyses for internal decision-making.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure research findings align with organizational goals and customer needs.

Top Requirements:

• Senior-level experience in market research, marketing analytics, competitive intelligence, customer insights, or a related analytical field.
• Banking or financial services experience strongly preferred.
• Experience collecting and analyzing secondary data from government, economic, and industry resources.
• Knowledge of market analysis, consumer behavior, competitive research, and industry trends.
• Strong written communication, research, analytical, and presentation skills.
• Ability to interpret economic-related data and translate findings into business insights.
• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Psychology, Sociology, Marketing, Business, Research, or a related field preferred.
• Ability to work the required hybrid schedule in Glen Allen, VA: Tuesday through Thursday onsite and Monday and Friday remotely.
• USC or Green Card holder.
• Successful completion of applicable employment and credit screening requirements.
