Job Description

Industry

Advanced Manufacturing

At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.

Your impact

This job opportunity is available at ANY location in the United States. Ideally, selected candidates will be near a JACOBS U.S. based office, but we intend to hire the "best" candidates.

Your impact

Jacobs is the #1-ranked design firm on ENR's Top 500 Design Firms list - for the seventh consecutive year - and the #1 Program Management firm globally (ENR, 2025). We are not riding the data center wave; we are engineering it. Jacobs' Data Center Digital Twin solution, built on NVIDIA's Omniverse DSX Blueprint, was highlighted in Jensen Huang's GTC keynote in March 2026, placing Jacobs at the technical frontier of gigawatt-scale AI factory design.

This is your opportunity to elevate your career to the next level - leading complex, multi-discipline programs as a Senior Project Manager (CA) Lead, across OE, EPCM, and Design-Build delivery, working alongside the most recognized hyperscale owners, colocation operators, and advanced manufacturing clients in the industry. At Jacobs, you will do what you are most passionate about, at a scale and with a client roster that defines the future of AI infrastructure. You will manage engineering-side project execution from basis of design through IFC, construction administration, commissioning, and turnover. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage scope, schedule, budget, fee, risk, quality, client commitments, and field coordination-while serving as the connection between design intent and site execution.

Key Responsibilities

Project Execution & Controls

  • Own the project management plan: scope, schedule, budget, fee forecasting, staffing, contract administration, risk register, and change controls across the delivery lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain project execution plans, deliverable lists, staffing plans, schedules, budgets, forecasts, and client reporting; monitor progress and implement recovery actions when needed.
  • Manage Jacobs engineering fee budgets, subcontract scopes, cost-at-completion, variances, change orders, and commercial impacts with appropriate project-controls support.
  • Lead schedule development in P6, MS Project, or comparable tools; coordinate critical-path milestones across BOD, 30%/60%/IFC design, permits, procurement, construction, commissioning, and turnover.
  • Delivery, Construction Administration & Technical Coordination
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams from concept through construction administration across Civil, Structural, MEP, process, controls, fire protection, and telecommunications/ICT systems, as assigned.
  • Serve as the primary coordination point among the client, Project Engineer, discipline design teams, construction management, commissioning teams, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • As Owner's Engineer or CA lead, represent the client's interests through design review, RFI response, submittal processing, construction observation, field issue resolution, document issuance, and schedule adherence.
  • Perform and coordinate field walks, engineering inspections, field checks, equipment and system verification, and line walkdowns; document observations with photos, sketches, markups, and action items.
  • Verify that installed conditions, equipment identification, tags, room names, system references, and drawing information are accurate, current, and traceable.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, design changes, technical queries, nonconforming work, field change documentation, and potential change-order impacts through documented resolution.

Quality, Safety, Commissioning & Turnover

  • Enforce the Jacobs quality management plan; facilitate design QA/QC, constructability reviews, interdisciplinary coordination, and key issuance reviews at 30%/60%/IFP/IFC milestones.
  • Champion Jacobs BeyondZero safety culture; review contractor safety plans and conduct site safety observations during construction-administration activities.
  • Support construction readiness, third-party testing, commissioning, integrated systems testing, punch-list development, system turnover, and operational handover.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and auditable project records, including reports, inspection and test documentation, walkdown packages, redlines, RFIs, NCRs, meeting minutes, change logs, and closeout information.
  • Client Relationships & Growth
  • Serve as a primary client point of contact for assigned work; manage coordination meetings, dashboards, issue escalation, action closure, and executive-level communication as appropriate.
  • Support project staffing, onboarding, mentoring, lessons learned, continuous improvement, proposals, estimates, basis-of-estimate development, and client presentations.
  • Promote Jacobs' culture of safety, quality, integrity, collaboration, and inclusion in all interactions with project teams, contractors, clients, and partners.

Here's what you'll need

Successful candidates will possess substantial project management experience leading large-scale data center, mission-critical facility, industrial, construction, engineering, or similar physical infrastructure projects. This role is not focused on software development, enterprise IT programs, application implementation, network operations, cloud transformation, or technology product delivery. Applicants with predominantly IT Program Manager, Technical Program Manager, Software Project Manager, or SDLC-based experience should carefully review the infrastructure and construction requirements before applying.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • 10 years or more of progressive project management, construction administration, engineering coordination, field engineering, or technical project-delivery experience on complex facilities
  • Demonstrated project-management or CA experience supporting Data Center, Advanced Technology, Semiconductor, mission-critical, industrial, or similarly complex facility projects; direct hyperscale experience is preferred
  • Fluency across at least one Jacobs delivery mode: OE, EPCM, or Design-Build; ability to coordinate design, construction, commissioning, and client teams knowledge of project controls, including scheduling, cost tracking, fee forecasting, change management, risk, action tracking, and project reporting; proficiency with P6 or MS Project preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) PMI certification preferred or in progress
  • Professional Engineer - Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Structural; multi-state reciprocity valued
  • Master's degree in engineering, Project Management, or Construction Management
  • Experience on hyperscale cloud (AWS, Azure, Google, Meta) or advanced semiconductor fab (TSMC, Intel, Samsung, Micron) programs
  • LEED AP BD+C, CEA, or DBIA credential - differentiates on sustainability-driven and Design-Build pursuits
  • Familiarity with hyperscale design standards: ASHRAE 90.4, Uptime Institute Tier classification, BICSI TDMM, NEC 708
