UNC Health Nash (UNC Nash) has partnered with WittKieffer in its search for a collaborative and strategic physician executive to serve as its next Chief Medical Officer (CMO). Reporting directly to the President and Chief Executive Officer, the CMO serves as the organizations senior physician leader and is responsible for advancing physician engagement, clinical quality, patient safety, and medical staff alignment across UNC Nash. The CMO will have a unique opportunity to build upon a strong foundation of clinical excellence, support ongoing organizational growth, and help shape the future of healthcare delivery across eastern North Carolina.

For more than 40 years, UNC Nash has served as the premier healthcare provider for Rocky Mount, Nash County, and the surrounding region. The county-owned, nonprofit health system includes 345 licensed beds across Nash General Hospital, Coastal Plain Hospital, and the Bryant T. Aldridge Rehabilitation Center, supported by approximately 180 active medical staff physicians and a growing network of employed and community providers. In 2014, UNC Nash became an affiliate of UNC Health, one of the nations leading academic health systems, providing access to systemwide clinical expertise, advanced technology, specialty care resources, and strategic partnerships that enhance care delivery throughout the region. Today, UNC Nash is experiencing significant growth, including the construction of a new inpatient tower and the opening of two new outpatient locations, creating an exciting environment for a physician leader who is eager to influence both organizational strategy and community health outcomes.

The next CMO will join UNC Nash at a pivotal moment in its evolution. Working in partnership with UNC Nashs senior leadership and UNC Health colleagues across the state, the CMO will help preserve and advance these achievements while fostering strong physician relationships, supporting clinical innovation, guiding service line development, and ensuring that UNC Nash remains the trusted healthcare destination for the communities it serves.

The ideal candidate will be a trusted partner to the medical staff, capable of building alignment across the physician enterprise while fostering strong collaboration with nursing, operational, and executive leaders. Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment to clinical excellence, quality, and safety; actively engage in systemwide programs and initiatives; and serve as an influential voice in advancing strategic growth, physician engagement, and exceptional patient care across the region.
