Job Description Job Title: Staff AccountantReports to: Director of FinanceSupervisory Responsibilities: NoneStatus: Full-Time (40 hours), Non-ExemptQualifications: Associates degree in Accounting or two to five years of related experience. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software. Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills, with excellent follow-through.Physical Requirements: This position primarily works in a typical office setting but may involve exposure to extreme temperatures in a warehouse environment. The role may require extended periods of sitting, standing, and/or bending; listening, speaking, and visual concentration; and writing and/or computer use. The position typically provides routine opportunities to change physical position or shift eye focus. Lifting should not normally exceed 30 pounds.Position Summary: Assists in all areas of the Finance Department, with a primary focus on grants, credit cards, account reconciliations, and month-end close.Duties and Responsibilities:Grant Financial Tracking:Process payment requests, invoices, and drawdowns to verify that costs are reasonable and allocableTracking of award spending, manage salary allocations, and prevent unallowable cost transfersEnforce adherence to local, state, federal, or foundation legal regulationsCommunicate with Finance Management regarding any inquires or non-allocable spending Reconcile and track custodial accountsReport any unused or expiring funds to managementHandle all weekly credit card transactions and reconciliationAssist with monthly account reconciliations, month-end close and year-end auditSave transaction reports for LockboxPerforms other duties as assigned. Maintain privileged and confidential information in strict confidence.
