Staff Accountant
Corporate Accounting & Finance
The Staff Accountant reports to the Accounting Manager within the Corporate Accounting & Finance group and plays a key role in supporting the organization's financial operations. This position is responsible for participating in thefull accounting cycle, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
The Staff Accountant will be actively involved in the monthly close process, preparation of financial data, and coordination with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate reporting and efficient accounting operations. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a solid foundation in accounting principles who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced corporate environment.
Please note: This role is based in Boston, MA, and requires 3 days per week in-office to collaborate with the team. This is not a remote position, and relocation would be at the candidate's expense.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with established accounting policies and procedures.
- Review employee expense report submissions to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company guidelines.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and prepare supporting schedules for review.
- Support Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) functions as needed.
- Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Provide back-up support for other accounting team members to ensure continuity of operations.
- Participate in ad hoc projects, reporting requests, and process improvement initiatives as assigned.
- Perform additional duties as required that are reasonable and within the scope of the role.
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant accounting experience.
- We welcome new grads to apply, though proven success in accounting-focused internships will be highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles and financial reporting practices.
- Exceptional attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to support colleagues and contribute to overall department success.
Schedule
This role is based on a 45-hour work week, with 40 regular hours and 5 OT hours, targeting $75,000 annually. See hourly rate range below.
$31.25/hr - $36.00/hr
