Compensation: $80,000 - $100,000A growing real estate investment and development firm is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join its expanding finance team. This opportunity offers broad exposure across both REIT/property accounting and construction/development accounting, making it an excellent fit for someone looking to build a well-rounded foundation within real estate finance and operations.The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of accounting experience, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral AccountingPrepare and post journal entries while maintaining accurate general ledger recordsAssist with month-end and year-end close processesPerform account reconciliations and investigate resolution discrepancies in a timely mannerSupport the preparation of financial statements and internal reporting packagesEnsure compliance with GAAP, accounting policies, and internal controlsAssist with property-level financial reporting and analysisConstruction & Development AccountingTrack construction-in-progress (CIP) activity and maintain job cost allocationsMonitor project budgets versus actuals and assist with forecasting and variance analysisPartner with development and project teams to support cost tracking and reportingReview and process contractor pay applications, invoices, and lien waiversSupport lender draw requests and project financing reporting requirementsAssist with project closeouts, including capitalization and placement of assets into serviceQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field2-4 years of accounting experience, ideally within REIT, real estate, construction, or development environmentsStrong understanding of GAAP and real estate accounting principlesExperience with property management and construction accounting software is preferredProficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis functionsStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a collaborative, fast-paced settingCPA or CPA-track preferred, but not required#J-18808-Ljbffr
