POSITION OVERVIEW

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for supporting various aspects of AIRNA's accounting processes and day-to-day accounting operations. This role will work cross-functionally with teams to help ensure the Company's activities are appropriately reflected in the financial statements. The Staff Accountant will assist with month-end close activities, account reconciliations, journal entries, and other accounting functions while supporting the accounting team as the Company continues to scale its operations.

The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting fundamentals, experience within the biotech or life sciences industry, and a collaborative mindset suited for a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules as part of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
  • Assist with accruals and expense analysis, including R&D project tracking and contract-related expenses
  • Reconcile and analyze balance sheet accounts such as cash, prepaids, fixed assets, accruals, and intercompany accounts
  • Support accounts payable and purchasing processes, ensuring proper coding, documentation, and compliance with company policies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (FP&A, R&D, Operations, HR, etc.) to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Assist with AIRNA's Germany subsidiary financial reporting
  • Assist with ad hoc analyses, reports, and special projects as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • CPA and/or public accounting experience preferred
  • 2-3 years of progressive accounting experience; prior biotech or life sciences industry experience a plus
  • Experience with NetSuite or comparable ERP system preferred
  • Familiarity with Prendio a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (lookups, pivot tables, data validation, etc.)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach

LOCATION

Hybrid - 3 days a week in Cambridge, MA

SALARY

$80 - 100k plus bonus and equity
