Our client, a fast-growing tech startup, is looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented Senior Staff Accountant to join their growing finance team. In this role, you'll play a key part in managing daily accounting operations, supporting the month-end close process, and ensuring timely, accurate financial reporting.You'll be hands-on with accounts payable, invoice processing, and expense management, while also helping build the infrastructure of an evolving finance department. This is a great opportunity to make a direct impact at a fast-moving tech startup and help build the finance function for scale.What You'll DoMonth-End Close & Accounting OperationsLead key areas of month-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysisMaintain general ledger accuracy and ensure compliance with GAAPPrepare and review account reconciliations for cash, prepaid expenses, accruals, fixed assets, and other balance sheet accountsSupport consolidation and intercompany activity across entities, if applicableAssist with preparation of financial statements and supporting schedulesAccounts Payable & Invoice ProcessingSupport the full AP cycle, including vendor setup, invoice coding, processing, and approval workflowsMatch invoices to receipts and purchase orders to ensure accuracy and complianceMaintain vendor records and assist with timely payments and issue resolutionPartner with stakeholders to improve AP processes and expense trackingProcess Improvement & SystemsHelp build and document new accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls as the department scalesIdentify and implement process improvements to shorten close timelines and enhance accuracySupport ERP and accounting system optimization effortsPartner with the Controller on implementation of new systems, policies, and controlsAssist the Controller with departmental projects and day-to-day needsAudit & CompliancePrepare supporting documentation for external audits, tax filings, and other compliance requirementsEnsure proper documentation of accounting policies and adherence to internal controlsCross-Functional CollaborationPartner with Controller and FP&A to ensure proper expense classification, accrual accuracy, and variance explanationsCollaborate with People and Operations teams to reconcile personnel, benefits, and employee reimbursementsProvide ad hoc analysis and reporting to support management and decision-makingWhat You'll NeedBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or CPA track preferred3–6 years of relevant accounting experience (public accounting or startup/tech company experience a plus)Strong ownership of month-end close: journal entries, GL maintenance, reconciliations, accruals, and financial reportingSolid understanding of U.S. GAAP and accrual-based accountingHands-on AP experience, including invoice processing, vendor management, and approval workflowsProficiency with an ERP system such as NetSuite (preferred), QuickBooks, or Sage IntacctAdvanced Excel/Google Sheets skillsDetail-oriented, proactive, and process-driven — comfortable thriving in a fast-paced, high-growth environment#J-18808-Ljbffr
