Job Description

Position Summary

TopBuild now QXO is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. This position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records through the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, month-end close activities, financial analysis, and support of internal controls. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post monthly journal entries with supporting documentation, including recurring accruals, prepaids, amortized transactions, and other accounting adjustments.
• Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Perform month-end analytical review of trial balance accounts and provide explanations for material fluctuations.
• Maintain compliance with company accounting policies and internal controls.
• Communicate by verbal and written means with other departments, vendors, and customers.
• Collaborate with operational teams to research accounting issues and resolve discrepancies.
• Support internal and external audit requests by gathering documentation and preparing schedules.
• Participate in special projects and ad hoc financial analyses as assigned.

Qualifications Required

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• 1+ years of general accounting experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, an array of formulas, and data analysis.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Beneficial, but not Required

• Experience with Oracle, ERP systems, or large-scale accounting software.
• Experience working in a multi-entity or multi-location environment.

POSITION LOCATION

Onsite in Daytona Beach, FL

This is not a remote position. At least 2-3 days weekly onsite presence will be required.

Physical Requirements

Work is performed in a typical office environment and may require standing, bending, lifting boxes or packages under 10 lbs., and sitting for long periods of time.

Work requires regularly inputting/retrieving words or data into or from an automated/computer system.

Compensation Range:

$60,200.00 - $90,100.00
