Location: Denver, CO | On-site (south Denver)
Salary Range: $70,000–$85,000

Overview

Our client is seeking a Staff Accountant to join a growing accounting team within a rapidly expanding commercial construction organization. This is an excellent opportunity for a Staff Accountant who wants to build experience beyond traditional day-to-day accounting and gain exposure to project accounting, multi-entity operations, systems integrations, and process improvement.

Working closely with the Controller and company leadership, the Staff Accountant will have the opportunity to take ownership of core accounting responsibilities while participating in larger initiatives designed to improve and scale the accounting function.

Staff Accountant Responsibilities

• 
  

• Manage and support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities across multiple entities

  
  
• 
  

• Assist with month-end close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations

  
  
• 
  

• Support project accounting activities and collaborate with operational teams on project-related financial information

  
  
• 
  

• Perform account reconciliations, data validation, and research discrepancies

  
  
• 
  

• Assist with accounting system integrations and process improvement initiatives

  
  
• 
  

• Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, reporting, and internal processes

  
  
• 
  

• Partner with the Controller on special projects and other accounting initiatives as the company continues to grow

  
  
• 
  

What We're Looking For

• 
  

• 2+ years of accounting experience, ideally within construction, project accounting, or a related industry

  
  
• 
  

• Experience with Sage 100 Contractor or another ERP/accounting system

  
  
• 
  

• Exposure to multi-entity accounting is highly preferred

  
  
• 
  

• Understanding of general accounting principles, reconciliations, journal entries, A/P, and A/R

  
  
• 
  

• Strong Excel and analytical skills

  
  
• 
  

• Comfortable learning new systems and working through process changes

  
  
• 
  

• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to research discrepancies independently

  
  
• 
  

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; relevant construction accounting experience will also be considered
