    Senior Staff Accountant

    Four Squared Solutions is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant professional for perm opportunity with a located in N Fort Lauderdale, FL

    Department: Accounting/Finance
    Reports To: Controller
    FLSA Status: Exempt

    The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for performing advanced accounting tasks, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. This role provides key analytical insights, maintains strong internal controls, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to support the organizations financial integrity and operational success.

    Key Responsibilities

    Financial Reporting & General Ledger

    • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
    • Ensure accuracy and completeness of the general ledger.
    • Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
    • Maintain fixed asset schedules and reconcile depreciation.

    Analysis & Support

    • Analyze financial information and prepare reports that summarize financial status.
    • Provide variance analysis and explain fluctuations in revenue, expenses, and balance sheet accounts.
    • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.

    Compliance & Controls

    • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
    • Support internal and external audit activities by providing required documentation.
    • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for accounting procedures and internal controls.

    Operational & Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Partner with operations, HR, procurement, and other departments on financial matters.
    • Assist with process improvements, systems implementations, and automation efforts.
    • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff.

    Qualifications

    Education & Experience

    • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
    • CPA or progress toward CPA strongly preferred.
    • 5-7 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally in a corporate environment.

    Skills & Competencies

    • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
    • Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks a must).
    • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP) Required 
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
    • Excellent communication skills and ability to explain financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
