Staff AccountantEIS Holdings is hiring a Staff Accountant for our DFW location. The role reports to the Business Unit Controller and supports the finance team with day‑to‑day accounting tasks, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.Reports To: ControllerBusiness Group/Dept: FinanceFLSA: ExemptDate: December 15, 2024Seniority level: AssociateEmployment type: Full‑timeJob function: Accounting/Auditing and FinanceIndustries: Environmental Services and ConstructionResponsibilitiesRecord journal entries and maintain the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely posting of financial transactions.Perform account reconciliations for bank statements, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts, resolving discrepancies promptly.Process invoices, payments, and collections. Verify the accuracy of vendor invoices and resolve payment‑related issues as needed.Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Provide data and insights to support management decision‑making.Monitor and track company expenses, ensuring adherence to budgets and policies. Prepare and process employee expense reports.Support the month‑end and year‑end close processes, including preparation of schedules, accruals, and adjustments.Assist in gathering documentation and preparing reports for tax filings and audits.Ensure all financial activities comply with company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. Support internal control processes to safeguard company assets.Identify opportunities to streamline and improve accounting processes for greater efficiency and accuracy.Provide general support to the accounting and finance team, including data entry, filing, and responding to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (minimum).Preferably 1–3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms) and Microsoft Excel.Strong understanding of accounting principles and GAAP.Excellent organizational, time‑management, and attention‑to‑detail skills.Ability to work collaboratively within a team and communicate effectively.Familiarity with tax regulations and compliance is a plus.Physical ActivitiesSitting, typing, and working on a computer for extended periods.
