Staff Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations for an established manufacturing organization. This role will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, supporting month-end close, and assisting with customer invoicing and accounts receivable activities. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in general accounting, enjoys working with financial data, and can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience with manufacturing accounting, job costing, and work-in-process (WIP) inventory is a plus.

Key Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant:

• 
  
• Prepare and post journal entries for month-end close, including fixed assets, depreciation, prepaid expenses, and accruals.
• 
  
• Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and resolve outstanding items.
• 
  
• Support sales order processing by creating and maintaining job and sales orders within the ERP system.
• 
  
• Prepare and distribute customer invoices and corresponding shipping documentation.
• 
  
• Monitor accounts receivable activity and support timely collections to maintain healthy cash flow and minimize days sales outstanding (DSO).
• 
  
• Review and allocate labor costs to manufacturing jobs, analyze job costs, and record costs to the appropriate profit and loss accounts.
• 
  
• Maintain work-in-process (WIP) inventory account balances and assist with related reconciliations.
• 
  
• Prepare supporting schedules and reconciliations for audits and respond to auditor requests as directed by the Corporate Controller.

Qualifications of the Staff Accountant:

• 
  
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 
  
• 4+ years of accounting experience.
• 
  
• Solid understanding of general accounting principles and GAAP.
• 
  
• Experience with an ERP system; manufacturing accounting experience is a plus.
