Staff Accountant

Key Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant Role:
• Prepare and post journal entries to support accurate and timely financial reporting
• Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies, ensuring balances are complete and accurate
• Analyze accounting activity and ask the right questions to identify potential issues before they become problems
• Review outstanding balances, validate supporting information, and ensure compliance with state reporting requirements
• Support month-end close activities and assist with various accounting and reporting projects
• Partner with operations and accounting teams to ensure accurate financial data and proper documentation
Requirements for the Staff Accountant Role:
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 2+ years of accounting experience in a corporate accounting environment
• Experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify issues and investigate root causes
• Understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end close processes
